Homemade Noodles Recipe

Easy and healthy homemade noodles made without preservatives. Perfect for soups and stir-fries.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour or whole wheat flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • ½ to ¾ cup water as required
  • Extra flour for dusting

Method
 

  1. Add flour and salt to a mixing bowl and mix well.
  2. Pour in oil and combine evenly.
  3. Gradually add water and knead into a firm, smooth dough.
  4. Cover the dough and rest it for 20–30 minutes.
  5. Divide the dough into small portions.
  6. Roll each portion thin using a rolling pin.
  7. Dust lightly with flour and cut into thin noodle strips.
  8. Spread noodles on a plate and air-dry for 10–15 minutes.
  9. Use immediately or store for later use.

How to Cook Homemade Noodles Perfectly

  1. Bring water to a rolling boil with a pinch of salt.
  2. Add homemade noodles and cook for 2–3 minutes.
  3. Drain and rinse under cold water to stop cooking.
  4. Add to soups, stir-fries, or noodle-based sauces.

Tips for Perfect Homemade Noodles

  • Do not overcook; homemade noodles cook faster than packaged noodles.
  • Add spinach, beetroot, or carrot puree for flavored vegetable noodles.
  • For healthier noodles, replace all-purpose flour with whole wheat or millet flour.

  • Fresh homemade noodles can be refrigerated for up to 2 days.
